Dear Gas Grill lovers,

I was thinking the other day on recipes that I know have become family favorites.  There have been times that I have gone to a BBQ and taken a favorite salad or vegetable dish that I have known to be a crowd pleaser.  Some of the recipes have been either handed down over the years or I have taken a fancy while visiting family and friends and have begged for their recipe and thought to myself, I bet other people have recipes that they have tucked away and bring them out at BBQs or luncheons and thought that it would be lovely for people to add their favorite recipes so that we may all benefit:

It's at the time of year where we start to yearn for the taste of BBQ food some of the recipes that I have used are quick and easy and made in moments, and that is important when you are feeding a hungry crowd that is asking "is it nearly ready yet, or how much longer!"

Hamburgers are always a favorite at our place and this is what I whip up really quick:

Serves 4-6 people

  • 500g mince steak
  • large onion finely diced
  • cup freshly made breadcrumbs (packet ones if in a hurry - fresh tastes better)
  • 1 dessertspoon curry powder
  • 1 egg
  • half a cup of milk - more maybe needed if mixture is too dry
  • BBQ sauce
  • Salad - yes it's good for you! :)

Method:

Have to love this one, throw it all into a bowl until thoroughly combined with wetted hands shape into patties rest for 10 minutes.  Heat the Gas Grill BBQ up while the patties are resting and then turn back to medium heat and cook until cooked through.  A couple of minutes before you take them off the heat cut the buns and place cut side down on the grill.  Watch carefully as will burn.  Butter buns assemble with salad, beef pattie and top with BBQ sauce.  Yummy!
